Online soccer betting tips for Everton – Norwich
Everton hosts Norwich City at the Goodison Park in a match from the 6th round of the Premier League. Are you ready to take a look at this fixture in our online soccer betting tips? Well, let’s get to work then!
Everton started a new era with the arrival of the manager Rafael Benitez. The news resulted in protests by some of the fans because of the fact that Benitez used to manage Liverpool in the past.
But how did Everton started their first season with the Spanish coach? Well, it’s not bad. The Toffees are currently 6th in the Premier League standings with 10 points won and a record of three wins, one draw and one loss. They are just two points behind the 4th Brighton & Hove Albion and obviously that’s a positive start of the campaign. So far Benitez is managing to silence his critics. Let’s see how he’s going to continue, though – that’s the important part.
In the last round Everton suffered their first defeat for the season. The Toffees faced Aston Villa away from home, but played a bad game and suffered a 0-3 loss at the Villa Park. Everything went wrong after the 65th minute when Villa scored three times. Everton didn’t have their starting goalkeeper Jordan Pickford on the pitch, so his backup Asmir Begovic had to play in goal. Things didn’t go well for him, though.
Benitez’ 4-5-1 formation didn’t work, too. He put Demarai Gray behind the striker Salomon Rondon while Iwobi and Townsend operated on the flanks. Doucoure and Allan started in midfield.
Jordan Pickford is not the only player who missed the visit to Birmingham. Richarlison was absent in attack while the experienced right-back Seamus Coleman was not available as well. It’s still not entirely clear if these three players will return on the pitch against Norwich City. Most certainly Rafa Benitez hopes so because these are some important figures in the team.
The other star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin also missed the last game. We clearly saw that Everton struggled a lot without both Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin in attack. Benitez brought in Salomon Rondon precisely for situations like this one, but these players are not from the same bracket. The Toffees desperately need Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin back as quick as possible.
Fabian Delph is another player who’s currently sidelined in Everton’s squad. The former Premier League champion managed to play just one game since the beginning of the season. Delph is an useful player because of his versatility, but he hadn’t feature since the game against Leeds United in the first round.
The summer signing Demarai Gray is one of the nice surprises at Everton so far. The 25-years old arrived in Liverpool after one year spent with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. Gray didn’t need much time to show his talents as he scored three Premier League goals in the first five rounds. This makes him one of the most prolific players in the squad right now. It’s not a surprise that Rafael Benitez keeps playing him in the starting eleven – he’s doing really well so far.
Norwich City are probably feeling like having the same old nightmare again. The Canaries just got promoted to the Premier League again, but they are at the bottom of the standings with 0 points won from five matches played. Daniel Farke’s team have scored just two goals so far and conceded 14. It’s still too early to tell, but it seems that Norwich will have another very difficult season ahead of them. So far they are not showing any signs of having enough quality to remain in the Premier League.
In the previous round Norwich City faced Watford at home and lost for a fifth consecutive time in the league. The game ended with a 1-3 win for the visitors, so once again Carrow Road didn’t see anything positive from Farke’s team. Teemu Pukki scored for Norwich in the 35th minute of the game, but in the second half Watford put their foot on the gas pedal and scored twice to secure the win.
Daniel Farke is probably wondering what he could change to get his team start winning some points. He can’t really do much, but change the line-up again. Against Watford he picked players like Todd Cantwell, Christos Tzolis and Adam Idah from the bench, but obviously it was not enough. Another thing Farke could do is changing the formation. He uses the 4-3-3 from the start of the season, but as you can see it’s not giving any positive results at the moment. Maybe it’d help if he chooses a more defensive formation, so Norwich start defending with more numbers could actually stabilise their performance and give them better chances of positive results.
Farke has some problems with injured players as well. His compatriot Christoph Zimmermann still can’t make any appearances this season because of his latest injury. Meanwhile the defender Sam Byram is also out of the squad and he hadn’t play a single minute so far.
Milot Rashica is one of the new signings who need to step up right now. An international player of Kosovo, Rashica arrived at the Carrow Road from German side Werder Bremen. He’s a really good player, but he’s also still without a goal since debuting in the Premier League. He’s one of the players who can make the difference, so let’s see if he’s going to improve.
That’s the online soccer betting tips for the Premier League showdown between Everton and Norwich City at the Goodison Park. For the hosts this is a perfect opportunity to redeem themselves after losing in the previous round. For Norwich City it’s a completely different situation – the Canaries are still without a single point won so far in the league. The manager Daniel Farke is still looking for a solution for the team’s problems, but so far the results are not coming. Could he be the first manager to get sacked this season? That’s not too far from reality as we speak.
